County Bank Recognizes Community Banking Month
April is Community Banking Month and County Bank is joining with members of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) in recognizing the unique spirit that community banks demonstrate every day as part of their local communities. The month is a celebration of community banks and the vital role they serve in the economic, civic and cultural life in their communities and across the state and nation.
"County Bank exemplifies the proud tradition of community banking by playing an active role in stimulating the local economy and quality of life in the communities we serve," said Tom Bates, President of County Bank. "We work every day to enhance our communities by funding small businesses and using local dollars to help individuals and families purchase homes, operate farms and build financial security. We are successful when our communities, businesses and customers are successful."
"2015 and so far in 2016 have been a time of growth and change for County Bank and we have a lot to recognize and celebrate during Community Banking Month," said Terry Greenley, Chairman of the Board of County Bank. "We want to thank our customers and our communities for being part of our growth."
During 2015 County Bank introduced "PAT", the first Personal Automated Tellers in the area. PAT allows customers to do their banking via an ATM-like system with the added benefit of a personal teller - assisted two-way interactive video conversation with a County Bank personal banker located at the Bank's Sigourney office. PAT is available inside banking offices in Sigourney, Montezuma and Williamsburg and also has drive up sites in those communities. County Bank also rounded out their package of electronic banking products by expanding their mobile banking app to include mobile deposit and offering full access to eStatements. In Montezuma, County Bank moved to a new location and expanded services as a limited branch office. In Williamsburg, County Bank broke ground in November for a new banking facility that is anticipated to open in Summer 2016 replacing their current structure. Remodeling the Deep River office and a spruce-up in Gibson rounded out the Bank's 2015 projects.
"These changes are all helping expand and improve our Bank's ability to focus our attention on the unique banking needs of our local families, businesses and farmers," said County Bank Executive Vice President Dan O'Rourke. "We adopted a tagline in 2015 that 'we are always with you' and with electronic banking and offsite PAT locations that is becoming even more of a true statement. It allows our customers to bank when they want, how they want and where they want."
As part of the Community Banking Month it is a tradition that County Bank invites the community to stop by one of their banking locations for a cookie and a cup of coffee on any Friday during April.
"April is a special time for our customers and friends to stop by one of our offices to say hello and let us thank them for their support," said O'Rourke. "Our friendly staff is also available to talk about opening an account, making a loan or helping someone develop a plan to meet their personal financial goals."
Lucas Meier, Vice President of Operations, announced that he will again be offering the American Banker's Association's "Teaching Children to Save" program at local schools. "These presentations are a good way to introduce young people to the basic concepts of money management at grade-appropriate levels and any school in the County Bank area is invited to contact us to discuss a presentation from now through the end of the year," he said.
